Alright so now for the answeres portion of this whole thing. Usually I come out with my guitar because I'm more comfortable with it in my lap and if the questions get too crazy I can just shut them up by playing a song. So it's usually me and a bunch of camera flashes. They tell me there's people behind them but I can't see half the time. Mostly it's the 35 people who arent in line to get Jared's autograph and maybe a few people who wandered into the wrong room looking for breakfast or their board meeting. Here goes nothing.
Danneel asked who the hell I am and while I know she knows I thought an outline wouldnt hurt not to mention I need a new bio. I'm Steve Carlson. Born and raised in California. I'm an indie musician. Not indie music but indie indie no money indie. That whole thing. I've been at this for a long time and I like to keep myself busy. Between my solo stuff and my two bands and working with other people on stuff I've put out 7 albums over the past 8 years and I'm working on one I think will be done before the end of this year. So I never really sit down. The last I dont know.. some years have let me see the world and meet lots of people and help people that I really care about so over all I'm just a really lucky guy.
How did you first get involved with music and when did you know that music was what you wanted to do with your life?
I was 10 when I picked up a guitar for the first time and I think if you're going to be in this business and if you're going to do music for a living successfully or not you have to be in it all the way. It's one of those things you do because your soul tells you you have to. I'm not one of those guys who's happy doing one thing either. Even from the beginning I was writing and arranging and producing on my stuff and for others. I play and write for almost every instrument you hear on my records. I hire people who are good at them for the kinda outside ones like sax and cello but any guitar is probably me, piano sometimes. I've got a great group of singers. Daren and Rosie (the two in my icon) are family. Love them to bits. I think the fact that music is both a solitary thing and a community thing really appeals to me because I'm a hermet I like to have my alone time but I'm also a huge social butterfly so weird combination but there's so manythings that make me want to do music. I guess it really came to me when I moved to Hawaii for a few years I really found my own sound and learned some new things and just figured it all out I guess. I've done other things, I have other skills I just couldnt live without this one. Thanks for the question Corbin.

Okay, by Item I'm going with physical posession so you cant all get mad I didnt say you, cause clearly you all come first but thing? My green bracelet. I'd say guitar but you can get a new guitar.
When is the moment that you feel you lost your innocence?
The minute I met Christian Kane. Ha! no, thats not it. It was probably my second year of highschool when I started smoking and never stopped. It kinda went downhill from there but I think I have it to thank for my singing career.
Did you make any New Year's resolutions? If so, did you ever follow through?
Not that I remember. If I did they were probably to drink more, Spend more time with my friends and never keep another secret. I think I'm doing those things.
Name one band you love, but don't want anyone to know.
A band? um Chris has me listening to Lady A a lot though I'm not too ashamed of that. I guess it's my pop girls that I hide like Kelly Clarkson and Britney. They have great production and you gotta admire that.
What do you want to be doing one year from now?
I want to be making a birthday cake for my baby girl. I want to be stationed in one place and I'd like my husband to be home at night or on the weekends at least. I'd like to be writing my next record.
What's your favorite word and why.
My favorite word is.. Yes. I like hearing yes. Yes is very rarely a bad thing and if you ask your questions the right way it always will be a good thing. It's really powerful too. It can change a lot really quickly, it can mean so much just one word with all the things that it can imply. Anyway. Yes. Yes is my favorite word.
how many buttons undone on your shirt are TOO many buttons?
Can I choose no shirt? If you have one done up in the middle you're good.
how many more versions of Pinata Novia will there be before it's retired?
Probably? About 3. Then I'll do the punk cover and maybe sell the rights to wonderbread or something for commercials.

You sure about that? I love lions because they're proud creatures. And they're quiet and majestic. They're strong and lean and a little too serious sometimes. They're so beauitful and they succseed at anything they decide to do. They sleep all day lounged out in the sun, lazy and hot. They're just so royal and strong and confident. They eat zebras?
why do you think they say don't mess with Texas?
Cause you always end up with a massive hangover and Texas will just laugh at you. Not to mention you'll never be the same. They don't really let you go either. I have property of Texas tattooed on my ass.
Lindsey McDonald or Eliot Spencer, who would be a better lover?
I think the answer should be you're a fantastic lover, Chrissy. But I dont know. It might be a toss up. I mean lindsey has those Evil hand issues. That could be fun. And I saw the way he threw around Eve but I think I'll go with Eliot. First off, he has glasses. And he's cute. He speaks clingon and is sweet and caring and has really good reflexes. I think he'd be fun to take your time with. This is getting a little risque for public and considering I'm talking about fictional characters, maybe I should stop now.
Why do you wear women's shirts?
I dont wear women's shirts but Jared does. Giant womens shirts. I'm just not afraid to wear pink.
